Money

Well since i'm referring more and more people here, it's about time i updated it with my goings.
Firstly as the title implies, I GOT PAID, and it is going a long way. I was going to post a picture of my nice new (expensive) shirt, but Guy proved to shaky with the camera.

It seems i'm yet to adjust to the whole work cycle yet, resulting in considerable distraction at work (although there are other reasons for this) and lack of energy in the evening.
One thing is true however, i've regained my wellington appetitie (lunchtime curry's , dominos every night).

Apart from work little has happened during the week (and i'm sure noone wants to here about the joys of being an Advisor (MRL Standards), other than the fact that it has proved impossible to have exactly the right workload, i end up with either too little or too much).
So that leaves the weekend, last friday night was a few drinks at work then i rolled over to the loaded hog to meet guy and as usual the place was almost empty so sofa's were easily gained. Several Hog Drafts later and we were joined by james and amy and the ERMA gang, more beers were drunk and jim was thrashed heavily at pool.
Saturday comes and cue one epic hangover (hog draft lacks the clean feeling of speights), it took several hours to sleep off and was'nt helped by watching my flatmates eating full english breakfasts.
Fortunatly it proved to be an inside day, as the rain flooded down.
Sunday however was a diffrent kind of day, with the sun out in force, i was prompted to attempt to scale Mt Vic.

This i quickly decided was stupid as all the paths up had turned into rivers and my patent shoe grips did'nt actually grip, (note to self: buy walking shoes).

Then the rest of the day dissolved in washing clothes and generally getting ready for monday.

The last week was notable in the UK for temperatures reaching up to 36C, in wellington we had nearly the opposite, 120kmh winds , rain and even snow. This made for the most depressing week, as my body somehow realised what a summer i was missing.

After the saturday hangover of last week i was in no mood to have another , so friday was spent hugging the heater, debating what film to see from the film festival, and kicking myself for forgetting guy had invited me to a costume only party. The rain in the end discouraged me from leaving home and so i had a comfortable night in at home.

Saturday was spent being parted from my money, i'd originally intended to go get my degree framed and maybe buy an awesome painting (if i buy it i'll add a picture of it), instead i got distracted by CDs and then all of the winter clothes sales, cue the spending of $350 later and i have a nicely stocked warderobe (and a fancy shirt).

I then cooked up one of my legendary thai curries for my flatmates and the promptly arriving guy accompanied by beer.

It was of course tri-nations night and the brewery was calling (wicked blonde is unbeatable), i was complimented on my superb eyesight as i grabbed the best seats in the house, we were then met by Leon (guy's cousin, who i introduced to people as liam for most of the night) and ben's friend. Cue several beers and a thrilling match and we moved on to Molly Malones (where an irish band was playing and speights was drunk) then to Kitty O'sheas were a weezer cover band were rocking the place. Then as i was in no fit state to be standing up, the night ended.

For some reason guy had promised us pancakes for breakfast and the man was round way too early to deliver, so fighting a hangover i went for coffee at the handily close mojo and got pancake mix, then myself providing the entertainment on a certain red acoustic guitar (it's mine now sion) and guy cooking ,made breakfast followed by crickounge (which thanks to a new carpet and my awesome spin is harder than ever).

Thats it enjoy the new blog title, and go out and listen to the new Living End album.

Return of The King

Well, all the stress of the last year, all of the money spent and all of the hours spent bored on the plane, and i'm here! back to the windy city of culture known as wellington.
The first week seemed to fly past in a daze of jet lagged caused zombieism, although going back to work on my second day here proved to be slightly stupid as i was effectivly useless and got too drunk way to easily at the work party after (thats a long story).
Well thanks to :

and the magnificence that is Crickounge (Guy unfortunatly proved to be too well adjusted to the wintery conditions):

I'm now back to normal(although constantly cold).
There was also some irony to my return, 7 days later and its the turn of Rebecca to leave, a farewell party and several beers later and i was not feeling too keen to walk across town the next morning to go steal some of her stuff (heater etc) though i did take my camera for the obligratory top of the cable car pics.

Anyway farewell Rebecca see you when you return.
Another night out followed with new housemates James and Amy as I revisited 2 old freinds the Brewery and The Bledisloe Cup.
Finally back to the joyful tedium of an 8-5 job, well heres wishng everyone overseas a speights on me
